Lost or Stolen I-551 Alien Registration Cards (Green Cards)

If you are a Lawful Permanent Resident who has been in Guyana for less than one year and your Green Card is lost, stolen or has expired, you will need to apply for a Travel Document to return to the U.S. Applicants should be prepared to wait at least 30 working days for issuance.

You may visit this office on any Monday at 1:00 p.m., except on U.S. or Guyanese holidays to submit your application. You must appear with the forms and documents listed here (PDF 1.94 MB).

The U.S. Embassy cannot issue replacement Green Cards. New Green Cards may only be obtained in the United States from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
