Lost or Stolen Green Cards
If you are in Guyana and your I-551 Alien Registration Card (commonly referred to as a Green Card) is lost, stolen, expired or was never received you may be able to obtain a Transportation Letter.
A U.S. Consular Officer must be satisfied that you hold Legal Permanent Resident status in the United States before a Transportation Letter can be issued to you.
This office cannot issue replacement Green Cards. New Green Cards may only be obtained in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
You may visit the Non-immigrant Visa Unit at this office on any Monday at 1:00 PM, except on U.S. or Guyanese holidays, to apply for a Transportation Letter.
