American Citizen Services include registration of births, passport issuance, notarial services and registration.  All U.S. citizens visiting or residing in Guyana are strongly encouraged to register at the ACS window in the consular section during walk-in hours or online.Make your ACS appointments on-line: The Consular Section is now accepting appointments for American Citizens Services (ACS) online. CLICK HERE TO MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT.

Walk-in services (M-Thurs. 12:30-2:30 and Fridays 7:30-10:30) will be available concurrently for an initial two week period (until February 4th) as we transition to an appointment-based system.

Effective February 4, 2008, walk-in ACS services will no longer be available for routine matters, such as U.S. passport issuance/renewal, additional passport pages, Consular Reports of Births Abroad, and notarials which must now be scheduled using our online website.

This new service will allow you to view dates and times available for different types of ACS services. You will be able to choose from:
* Adding extra pages to a U.S. Passport
* Other Passport services - new passport applications and passport renewals
* Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) services - registering the birth of U.S. citizens born in Guyana
* Notarial and Other services - notarizing or authenticating documents, picking up forms or federal benefit checks, and for speaking to the Consular Staff about other issues such as taxes, voting, etc.

When scheduling your appointment, remember to print the "Appointment Details" page which you will need to check in at our office.

Appointments for Multiple Services:
Please note that multiple services of the same type for the same family (parents and children) constitute a single appointment. For example, if a mother, father, and two children want to renew passports at the same time, the family will only require a single appointment. If you need to book more than one appointment on the same day, please add the number "2" after your first name so the system will recognize it as a separate appointment. (For example, if your first appointment is for "Eric", your second appointment should be "Eric 2".)

Canceling or Rescheduling Appointments:
If you wish to cancel or reschedule your appointment, you will need to enter the Unique Identification (UID) number and password found on the "Appointment Details" page.

Missed Appointments:

We have a full schedule of appointments every day and usually a number of emergency cases. We regret we are unable to accommodate late arrivals. If you miss your appointment (date or time) you must book a new appointment.

Please note: If you are collecting your passport, registering as a U.S. citizen in Guyana, or picking up a Federal Benefits check or requesting information on other routine services, such a voting, you are not required to make an appointment and may come to the Embassy during public hours (M-Thurs. 12:30-2:30 and Fridays 7:30-10:30) to complete your business.

Emergency services for American citizens will remain available 24 hours a day. Please call the Embassy’s main number 225-4900 if you are in need of assistance.
