Introducing Online Non Immigrant Visa Appointment System

To better serve the needs of non-immigrant visa (NIV) applicants, Embassy Georgetown has instituted an online visa appointment service. Effective May 2, 2007, applicants must now schedule their own NIV appointments using the new online system. This system allows applicants to choose the available appointment that is most convenient. It also permits applicants’ family members in Guyana and abroad to schedule appointments for them.

All NIV applicants must complete the Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF) DS-156 before obtaining an appointment for an interview. The EVAF DS-156 can be accessed at https://evisaforms.state.gov/default.asp?postcode=GEO&appcode=3
When you have filled out the application form completely and a barcode has been generated by the system, you may proceed to make an appointment on line. Make sure that you have paid the USD100 at Demerara Bank prior to your interview date.

Individuals who do not have a personal computer may download and complete the forms and make an appointment at the library or any internet café. Several internet café operators recently completed a training session on the use of the online visa appointment service. The internet cafés that attended the training include Circuit City Internet Café, GuySeek.com Internet Café, Net Surf Café, and The Computer Lab.
