PEPFAR HIV/AIDS Poster Competition

Theme: “Celebrate Life

The President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, is sponsoring a poster competition under the theme “Celebrate Life”.   Children/youths are invited to prepare artwork that depicts the theme. The competition is intended to encourage and motivate youths to participate in the fight against HIV/AIDS, thereby inspiring hope for a future free of the disease; and to highlight the value of partnerships between the American people and the people of other nations in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Eligibility
The contest is open to children and youth.  Poster entries will be accepted in three age groups (ages at time of submission):

  1. Age Group 1: Ages 5 through 9
  2. Age Group 2: Ages 10 through 15
  3. Age Group 3: Ages 16 through 20

Any participant under the age of 18 years must obtain the written permission of his or her parent or legal guardian to participate (see Poster Contest Application Form).

Rules and poster Specifications

  1. Poster should be based on the theme “Celebrate Life.”
  2. Poster artwork must be original.
  3. Posters should not be larger than 11x17 inches /28x43 centimeters, and may be drawn vertically or horizontally.
  4. Copyrighted characters, trademarks, registered trademarks, product logos and brand names are prohibited.
  5. Posters that include endorsements of products, corporations, or organizations, or that are deemed vulgar or offensive will be disqualified.
  6. Participants must complete the Entry Form and submit it along with the poster.  Incomplete entry forms will not be accepted.

Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the top winners in each age group, i.e. first to third places.  Additionally, first prize winners from each age group will be showcased in poster shows, website features, and exhibitions.
